FIREWORKS!

The fourth of July ^^

I had the day off work. It felt like a Saturday

I hung out with my boyfriend's family

We stopped by a Mexican restaurant that I chose and had burritos and fish (I just went down the list in google maps and chose what looked good.)

The food was good. and there was a lot of it. I didn't even eat a third of what I ordered. (Also due to feeling heightened anxiety... but it really was a lot of food.)

Then we went back to the park. It was about 5:30 and the fireworks weren't going to start until 10pm, so we had a lot of time. We played on the playground, trying to do the monkey bars and climb up on stuff... I found out my upper body strength is very weak :P I want to do more pullups so I can do that more.

We played some card games, and I drew on my ipad while we continued waiting. It was fun. We also ate cotton candy. That was very good, and I kept comparing it to different things. Like spiderwebs (If you think Shrek), a silk worm cocoon, and pink installation foam... Haha, it was a blast.

Finally, the sun went down, and it was time for fireworks. We were right on the edge, as close as you could safely be to the fireworks. They were lighting them from a baseball diamond that had a chain link fence set up around it, and then an extra space was sectioned off around it as the "Firework fallout" zone. And just a little way outside that, we were set up on blankets, so we could lie back and watch the fireworks explode above us.

IT was amazing! The fireworks filled the sky. There was no delay between the flash and the sound, and ash was raining down on us. as well as some firework shrapnel :P it was fabuluous, but I think that's the last time I want to be that close to fireworks. It was both too loud, and ash kept getting in my eyes, I couldn't enjoy it as much as I wanted to.

But one thing, we sat up for the second half (because of afore mentioned ash in eyes) and I saw the guy at the base of the fireworks making sure nothing caught on fire. He was all decked out in fireman-like attire, and had an extinguisher in his hands. He paced back and forth constantly checking and putting out any fires that erupted out of that mess.

He was back lit by the fireworks and flames, and it looked like a war zone in there.

Then it ended, and we went home.

Maybe I'll go through and edit this so it reads better, but I won't worry about it right now. There's what I did for the fourth of July ^^
