I seem to be writing a novel instead of a short story

So, I have started writing a short story, right? Anyhow... it's becoming a more fleshed out sort of potential full on novel... I'm not sure I can keep calling it a short story. If I were to write a short story, I would need to change the execution of it. And should I do that now or just keep plowing ahead? I'm not sure. I guess I can keep what I have right now, revise it into a short story format and try that, then if I still like it, I can expand it into the full novel format. It will be a lot of work, but ultimately, I'm writing this to practice, not to get to a final and finished state. So, I guess that's what I'll be doing. I wonder how it will go XD

Laundry Day

A little background to this story: I noticed that I would go several weeks without doing laundry, and then I would have to wear some of the more uncomfortable clothes that I keep in the back of my drawers in case of an emergency, such as "all my clothes are dirty" situations. I decided I was not a fan of this anymore and so, I chose a day in the week (Wednesday) to be my laundry day.

A bit of a somber message

This has been a tough year so far for me and my family. We've been facing a lot of unknowns and unexpected challenges. We're trying our best to keep moving forward one step at a time, but sometimes the future can seem distant or nearly nonexistent past the immediate challenges. I am certain we will all continue to keep pressing forward as best as we can, but it also means I may be posting here consistently and other times I may vanish for a week or two, or more, depending on the situation. I hope to be able to keep posting, to find the joy of creating and sharing, but I know it's not always easy. Life is not easy.

So... I tend to bite off more than I can chew, and I had been planning on creating a graphic novel with no prior experience with creating stories visually. So, while I was trying to tackle that, I was running into lots of walls and getting stuck because I didn't know what I was doing.
